New Optical System for Long Distance Control of Electrical Energy Flows

The problems that arise during the transmission of control commands for key elements and data on their execution via communication systems over long distances at energy facilities are considered. necessity a new approach to solving this problem using fiber-optic line (FOCL) is substantiated. A design analog FOCL has been developed transmitting substations switching data. method forming an optical signal in laser module direct current modulation proposed. advantages generating signals sequence command codes compared with digital currently used monitoring main parameters have calculated. An experimental prototype was assembled, research conducted. results calculations compared. directions further modernization determined increase distance up 600 km without use servers, maintenance which power system some cases challenging, expensive, not always possible.
